John McMillan and Ruth Morris are are kindly organising a weekend in Cumbria on the weekend of

18th – 20th May 2018.

Please could you let events organiser know at events if you wish to come. It makes things easier and polite to arrange especially if we are visiting private gardens. The programme may change as we progress through the weekend.

Friday 18th May

Meet Stagshaw Garden Car Park from 1400hrs Stagshaw Garden – National Trust

Between KENDAL and AMBLESIDE just off the A591 LA22 0HE

Fine collections of rhododendrons and azaleas, ericaceous trees and shrubs, including magnolias, camelias and embothriums. About half of the area is on very steep hillside, riven by ridges and valleys down one of which cascades a woodland beck with small waterfalls.

Afterwards at Wainwrights Inn 1800hrs

Saturday 19th May

Holehird Gardens Meet 1030hrs

Hillside gardens with Victorian style greenhouses. In a stunning setting overlooking Windermere.
